2018 UEA Officer and Board of Directors Elections
The United Education Association of Shelby County is now accepting nominations for the positions of President (2 yr. term); Secretary (2 yr. term).
Nominations are also being accepted for the Board of Directors positions of Elementary School Director (Position 1, 2, 3); Middle School Director (Position 1, 2); High School Director (Position 1, 2) and ESP Director; Administrator.
Director; Mental Health Director. Odd number positions and Administrator are 1 year terms, all others are two year terms.
To be eligible for office, candidates must be a member in good standing of UEA, TEA, and NEA for the past 2 years.
The deadline to submit nominations is Tuesday, March 20 by 5:00 pm. Nominations must be submitted on an official nomination form. Incomplete nomination forms and those received after 5:00pm, Tuesday, March 20 will be ruled invalid.
Nominations may be e-mailed to Danette Stokes, UEA Elections Chairperson: firstname.lastname@example.org or submitted at the UEA Representative Assembly.
Nominations will be verified via e-mail to the candidate within 48 hours. It is the responsibility of the candidate to notify the elections chairperson if they have not received confirmation of their nomination within 48 hours.
The name of the candidate will appear on the ballot as it was submitted on the nomination form.
Voting will take place from 8:00 am Monday, April 2 until 5:00 pm Friday, April 6.
Voting will be conducted online via a secure link e-mailed to all members by 8:00 am on Monday, April
2. Members must contact chairperson Danette Stokes: email@example.com if they do not receive an email to vote.
Candidates may submit a picture and brief bio (not to exceed 75 words) for publication to the membership. The deadline to submit a picture and bio will be Friday, March 23 at 4:00pm.
