  • Established UEA Scholarship for Seniors
  • Passed legislation to ensure raises end up in teacher paychecks
  • Advocated for the 175-day school calendar
  • Developed a strong partnership with MSCS Superintendaent, District leaders, and school board members
  • Created an NEA ESP Mentor Program to support ESPs
  • Partnered with the districts to support ESPs through a UEA ESP Mentor Program
  • Offered NEA Blended Learing Courses to members through the districts Professional Learning Department

Advocating for the health and well-being of educators

  • Advocate for a safe return to in-person learning
  • Partnered with the City of Memphis to ofer free COVID testing for all educators
  • Secured a 70/30 split for health insurance premiums from a 67/33 split
  • Pushed Mayor Harris to ensure the COVID-19 vaccine was available to educators
  • Reduced professional develpment hours to 40 hours during COVID-19
  • UEA president represented educators on COVID-19 MSC S.A.F.E. Re-entry Task force
